Come Meet our Florida Panthers and Bobcats – Osceola, Abiaka, and Lomasi!
Lomasi, our lovely lady bobcat, was found as a tiny, abandoned kitten in North Florida. After being rescued and cared for at a rehabilitation center, she was deemed non-releasable due to imprinting on humans. Today, she enjoys a safe and happy life here at Gatorland!
Osceola and Abiaka are our charismatic bobcat brothers, rescued from captivity in 2014. They’re a bonded pair full of personality who love spending time with our animal care staff. You can find all three of these feisty felines over at Bobcat Bayou, soaking up the sunshine or showing off their playful side.
In April 2023, we welcomed two Florida Panther siblings, Yuma and Sakari, to our wildlife family!
The five-month-old cubs were adopted from a sanctuary in the northeastern U.S. and quickly settled into their new home at Panther Springs, a beautiful, all-natural habitat featuring a flowing stream, waterfall, and a towering tree structure for climbing, lounging, and playing.
When they arrived, the brother and sister duo weighed around 20 lbs. and stood just over a foot tall. Playful, curious, and full of energy, Yuma and Sakari loved chasing each other, splashing in the water, wrestling, and rolling their boomer ball toys across the grass. Now almost fully grown, they are expected to reach up to 150 lbs.
“We were thrilled to have these beautiful Florida Panther cubs join us for our guests to enjoy and learn about,” said Mark McHugh, President and CEO of Gatorland. “Florida Panthers are endangered, with a small population of only about 200 in our state, and that number continues to shrink due to habitat loss and car collisions. It’s important for us to give our guests the opportunity to observe them up close—an experience they’d likely never get in the wild.”

So, whether you’re visiting Bobcat Bayou or exploring Panther Springs, Gatorland is the place to meet some of Florida’s most fascinating and rare wild cats—up close and unforgettable.
