The new Admissions & Gift Shop Complex, scheduled to open June 7, 2008 will feature over 19,000 square feet of retail, meeting and office space along with an open-air admissions pavilion that incorporates the historic gator mouth entrance, state-of-the-art meeting facility and classroom, and a cleverly designed shopping area featuring unique gifts ideas and a pictorial timeline outlining the rich history of the theme park.

On November 6, 2006 a fire was discovered in the Gatorland Gift Shop on South Orange Blossom Trail by two employees arriving for work.  More than seventy-five firefighters supported by numerous apparatus battled the blaze until late afternoon.  Despite their bravery and valiant effort, the 7,000 square foot Gatorland award-winning Gift Shop and Executive offices were lost in the blaze.

Shortly after the fire, a new entrance was designed near the southern end of the attraction, within sight of the world famous Gator Wrestlin’ arena, allowing guests full access to all of the attractions and exhibits included within the park.

Next, a climate-controlled building along the main walkway was converted into a spacious gift shop featuring unique gifts and souvenirs including top sellers such as custom leather products, taxidermies, toys, books, apparel and so much more.

Construction documents are currently being finalized for the re-design of the park’s main entrance and gift shop area.  The new structure will include a modern, open-aired admissions area, executive offices and a large gift shop to accommodate the requests and needs of the park’s many guests. We hope you will join us in 2008 for the opening of this exciting new beginning!
