Alligators Diagnosed with L.O.A.D Disorder at Gatorland
Dozens of giant alligators with “Lack of Adrenaline Disorder” will head into retirement as the theme park debuts a new leaner, meaner Gator Jumparoo Show

It’s out with the old and in with the new at Gatorland as the theme park debuts a new leaner, meaner Gator Jumparoo Show this month featuring forty powerful and young jumping alligators (6-8ft in length) trained for a shot in the spotlight and a chance to snag a few chicken’s off the line (store bought of course); “Chomp!”

The new Gator Jumparoo Show will feature a 360-degree viewing area, double the animal interaction and of course a chance to see Bubba and Cooter run from forty of the most ornery varmints at Gatorland; now that should be some real entertainment!

Entertaining and amazing, the Gator Jumparoo has captivated audiences at Gatorland since 1983 when Frank Godwin built a platform in the middle of the lake and strung a cable across the water to hold catfish filets just out of the reach of gators below. He would then raise the cable up and down to get the gators to jump at different heights. Encouraged by cheers from the crowd, gators quickly began leaping out of the water one by one in a dramatic attempt to retrieve a tasty treat from the line above.

Now, what about those big, ole gators who are about to lose their starring roles?  They are scheduled to meet with the doc for a good ole’ fashion physical before saying goodbye to the action of the Gator Jumparoo Show.  But just like many of today’s celebrities and sports figures, you can count on some of the crowd favorites such as “Boggie” the bottomless pit at the Gator Jumparoo Show, finding their way back into the spotlight at the all new Giant Gator Exhibit opening in 2010.
