Frequently Asked Questions:

How high is it?
You will be up to 58 feet in the air at the highest point coming off of tower #4!  Average zip height will be 31 feet.

What is the age limit?
This zip line is great for all ages.  We have size restrictions, however, in order to comply with manufacturers recommendations for the harnesses.  Generally, riders need to be a minimum of 37 inches tall, and fit comfortably and safely into a zip line harness..  The maximum weight of a rider allowed on the course is 275 lbs. (125 kgs).  Riders may be required to weigh on a scale prior to zipping.

What kind of shoes and clothes can I wear?
All riders must wear closed toed shoes with a heel strap to secure the shoe to your feet.  No sandals or open toed shoes allowed.  Dresses, skirts, and short shorts are also discouraged.

How far is it?
We’ve hung over 3000’ of cable in the air.  This includes 4 single zip lines, 1 swing bridge, and a parallel zip!  You will travel across 1,820’ of cable throughout the course on your individual journey.

How much time does it take?
We are going to have approximately 2.5 hours of Amazing Fun from sign-in to sign-out.

How fast is it?
Depending on some variables, you could fly up to 30 mph!

How much can it hold?
The cables are certified to 14,400 pounds!

Will it hold me?
They are strong enough to suspend an F350!

What happens if I don’t make it?
Not a problem!  You will simply slide back out to the middle and a guide will come and get you.

Is this safe?
Like most extreme activities in the outdoors, there is perceived risk involved.  Today, however, if you follow the safety instructions we give you, this activity will be as safe as possible.

Do I have to hold on?
No.  Unless a guide says differently, you can do whatever you would like with your arms.

Is this harness too tight/loose?
A guide will answer that question for you.

How much does it cost?
The cost is $69.99 and includes your admission to the park.  If you are already in the park and spaces are available, the cost is $54.99.

Where do I sign up?
Visit the admissions windows at the park, call us at 1-800-393-5297, or purchase tickets at HERE.

Where do I check in for my zip line ride?
Check in is 30 minutes prior to your scheduled zip line departure.  Check in at the Screamin’ Gator Zipline Adventure Depot located at #22 on your park map.

Do you do private tours?
Yes.  Private tours can be booked for parties of 10 or more by calling ahead to 1-800-393-5297 ext. 243.

Will there be guides on the tour?  Three fun and professional guides will escort you throughout the course.

How far in advance do I need to make reservations?
Spots fill up fast!  To ensure that you get your first choice, we recommend at least 2 weeks ahead.  We might have openings even one day in advance, but availability may be limited.  Call us to find out!

Can I take my camera with my while I zip?
No.  Since the zip line carries riders over public walkways, riders are not allowed to carry cameras, phones, or other loose items.  Lockers are provided during orientation.

Does your company take photos or videos for us?
Yes!  We will have a photographer out on the course taking tour photos.  They can be viewed and purchased at #22 on your Gatorland Map.

Will I get wet on the tour?
Quite possibly!  It rains or sprinkles frequently at Gatorland, at least for a short while.  We recommend wearing clothing and shoes that can get a bit wet.

Do I have to brake myself or control my speed?
No!  Your guides will do this for you, giving you the full “screamin’” experience.

My partner/friends/family wants to zip but I just want to watch.  Can I come along?
You can most definitely walk from zip line to zip line to view and take photos/videos.  All zip lines are viewable from general access paths.  Due to the nature of the activity, we will ask that you remain on the ground, or watch from the viewing platform that overlooks the breeding marsh.

Are there any restrooms on the course?
There are no restrooms available while on the course.  We have restrooms at Pearl’s Smokehouse (#24 on map) and Gator & Snake Photo (#11 on map).  These are the only facilities you’ll encounter while on the tour and you should “take care of business” prior to your tour orientation.

What if I have a medical condition?
If you are a healthy individual, come on out!  If you are pregnant, we’d love for you to take pictures from below.  If you have heart conditions, artificial joints, recent back injuries, mental or physical conditions or any other disorder that could compromise your safety as a Zip Tour participant, or others’ safety, we request that you disclose it to us for your safety.  Please consult your physician.  Each case is unique and will be assessed.

How safe is the course?
Each tower was designed by Professional Engineers and inspected by Certified Inspectors to meet or exceed all requirements in place.  The towers were built by a reputable, certified Contractor to the specifications noted on the plans.  A professional zip line installer constructed the zip lines and swinging bridge using accredited standards that meet or exceed the requirements of the Association of Challenge Course Technology (ACCT).  All guides were professionally trained to exceed the standards outlined by the ACCT.  The course and guides are ready to give you the ride of a lifetime, while safety is our #1 priority.

My guides provided me with an AWESOME experience, can I tip them?
Absolutely!  If you received great service, learned something new about your environment and had an exciting adventure, then a tip is always appreciated.

What are the physical challenges?
You will walk up 4.5 stories to begin, and 4 stories throughout the course.  A swing bridge will require some agility.  There will be a descent of 2 flights at the completion of the course.  Don’t worry, we’ll provide the wings for the flights!
